The drug is the dried cormus of the plant Artemisia anomala S. Moore. Plants other than Liu Ji Nu 
are also mentioned: Siphonostegia chinensis Benth., Artemisia lactiflora wall., Eupathorium chinensis 
L., Hypericum sampsoni Hance.
The plant has a height of ca. 60-120cm, the diameter is 0,2-0,4cm. The stem has a cylindrical shape, 
the surface is brownish-yellow to brownish-green and covered with white hair. The stem shows a thin, 
vertical edge. The consistency is brittle and hard. The fracture appears fibrous, the section is 
yellow-white. In the middle is a loose mark. The leaves are egg-shaped, hairy and have a brittle 
consistency.
Weak smell and taste.
